According to the preliminary information accompanying the images, the detainee was a woman with the last name Fonseca who was traveling in a vehicle allegedly armored .

Social media posts claim that the detainee is the daughter of Alejandro Arias Monge , known as "Diablo." However, this family relationship has not been publicly confirmed by the Judicial Investigation Agency, the Public Prosecutor's Office, or the Ministry of Security.
The intervention comes amid heavy police attention around La Reforma prison , where Arias Monge was admitted under strict security measures after his capture in Sarapiquí.
The suspect was transferred to the prison in an armored vehicle from the OIJ and accompanied by specialized agents.
The case comes after the capture of one of the country's most wanted men.
Alejandro Arias Monge was arrested on July 24, 2026 during a large operation in San Bernardino de Sarapiquí.
The police operation involved the Judicial Investigation Agency , the Public Prosecutor's Office , and other judicial authorities, and was carried out after years of searching.
Arias Monge was identified as the alleged leader of a transnational criminal organization and had arrest warrants related to serious crimes.
