Lauren Winans, 31, of Bardstown, is facing charges that include first-degree sodomy, incest involving a person younger than 12, and first-degree sexual abuse involving a victim under 12.
Authorities allege that the offenses occurred during a period in 2022. The case was presented to a Nelson County grand jury before Winans was taken into custody on October 22.
Booking information shows that a $250,000 bond was set in connection with the case. Winans was being held at the LaRue County Detention Center following her arrest.
Her arraignment is scheduled for November 5, when the case is expected to move into its next stage in court.
Authorities have released limited additional information about the circumstances surrounding the allegations, and identifying information about the minor has not been publicly disclosed.
The charges against Winans remain allegations. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
